Like in Africa!

I am glad it's finally hot enough to complain about how hot it is!!! For a minute I was actually missing winter! But I feel like myself again. Enjoying the ridiculously hot weather...
In the winter when you are cold, you can wear more and more layers and at some point  you will get warm. But what do you do in the Summer? Walk around in your bathing suit? Even that won't make any difference.
If only we didn't have to go to work every day...I wouldn't be getting out of the water!

I was in Africa-mood today. So I wore my safari-like outfit. I surely had the right heat....

My Athens!

Today I will take you with me for a walk in the old streets of Athens!

Athens....oh Athens!

The eye of Greece and mother of arts! Where do I begin? Most people just see a concrete city with black buildings and all kinds of weird people walking around. But if that's the case, then what is it about Athens that makes my heart beat fast when I'm there? The answer is easy! Just look around. Observe the authentic Greek people in the picturesque neighborhoods of Plaka and Psirri. Grab a "souvlaki"to go as you walk along the streets of Thission and enjoy the street musicians playing the accordion and bouzouki, and if you are lucky you may run into a "laterna" (variant of the barrel piano).

Sit at "Yiasemi" cafe in Plaka (I looooove it) for a cold lemonade and a homemade sweet and then walk in Monastiraki flea market in search of hidden treasures such as vintage jewels and bags.

Athens.....I love you <3

White Mykonos

Helloooo hellooo!!!

I have just returned from a 9-day trip to Greece and Italy and  my first thought was to share it with you despite my tiredness!
For me, summer vacation is synonym to Greek islands. I just love them! There is no other place I would rather be. I spent all Winter dreaming of the day I would be walking again in the narrow streets of Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos....The minute I set foot on the islands I feel like screaming of excitement!
 I have been to several Greek islands throughout the years but I have a special love for Mykonos and Santorini (like the 95% of the Greek and Cypriot population)! The blue of the sky and the water, the white of the houses, the colorful cobblestone streets...they are just amazing.

Mykonos I love you!! See you in a couple of weeks again!!! <3
