Frill Thrill

Ruffles ruffles ruffles everywhere! In blouses, dresses, skirts, bags, even shoes!

The ladies in frills only fill me with chills!

This summer we were surrounded by frills and ruffles and I love it! First of all because I’m a vintage lover and frills are so vintage, especially on dresses. Secondly, they are so girly and feminine and they make you look like you are having fun with your clothes! And that’s the attitude we should have towards fashion. We should be and look happy in our clothes.

Big ruffles on top look great with your hair pulled back because it brings them out and in my case today (ruffles and off-the shoulder) it reveals your skin beautifully.

If you go for top ruffles, keep the bottom half simple. One frill at a time! Otherwise you will end up looking like an 80’s freak!

Frills can be worn throughout the day depending on the material. Tulle or big silk-looking frills are better kept for your evening outfits. On the other hand, frills on denim or cotton can be easily worn with jeans for a more smart-casual look.

My dress today is cotton with a big frill on the top. I would easily wear it with flat sandals during the day and heels on a night out for drinks.

Since the frill already draws attention, do not over do it with the “cuteness” because will end up looking like a girl from the little house in the prairie!

That’s it for today sweeties!
